March 4th Meeting and Announcments from WI-VMUG

  • Tuesday, March 4th WI-VMUG – Join us for the first WI-VMUG meeting of 2014.  It’s being held on the MATC Campus in downtown Milwaukee.  We have a great program lined up for you with Netech, Palo Alto Networks and Virtualization Security Expert Edward Haletky.  We also have some great prizes to give away, among them: a Nexus 7, Google Chromecasts and Raspberry Pi’s.  At last check there were 119 people registered, but we have room for more.  More info and a link to register can be found here: http://www.wivmug.org/2014/02/march-4th-meeting-at-matc-registration-is-now-open/  (If registration is closed you can register onsite.)
  • Monday, March 3rd vBeers in Milwaukee:   We will be gathering Monday evening for a vBeers to warm up for Tuesday’s WI-VMUG meeting.  Event details can be found here: http://www.wivmug.org/2014/02/vbeers-milwaukee-monday-march-3rd-2014/
  • 2014 WI-VMUG User Conference:  We are working hard on finalizing the details for our 5th Annual User Conference.  This all day event is being held in Madison on April 22nd.  Watch our website, vmug.com and our usual social media outlets for more details as we work to finalize the agenda in the coming weeks.  Registration is available here: http://www.vmug.com/p/cm/ld/fid=4657

    • 2014 vExpert Applications are now open – Note that the application deadline is Thursday, March 6th.
    • Time to #FeedForward – This is a great article by Mike Laverick about a mentoring program for VMUG members looking to present at meetings but who could use some help doing their first presentation.
      • Reach out to the WI-VMUG Steering Committee if you are interested at presenting at our upcoming meetings.  Also let us know if you are interested in the #FeedForward program or other assistance with presenting at a meeting.

    • A wrap up of VMUG’s first ever VMUG Virtual Event:  Two members of our WI-VMUG Steering Committee (Brian Kirsch and Paul Woodward) played a big part in putting on this extremely successful event.  For those of you who attend there is also a like to the post event survey in case you didn’t get around to completing it yet.
