April 2014 WI-VMUG Updates

  • 2014 WI-VMUG User Conference: Only 12 days until our 5th Annual User Conference on April 22nd in Madison.  You won’t want to miss this event.  More details here.
  • Lunch with Frank: Only 7 days until our lunch event with PernixData’s Frank Denneman in Brookfield.  More details here.
  • Future WI-VMUG Meeting: Our next regular meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 10th at Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton.  Watch for more details in the coming weeks.
  • Horizon 6: In case you missed the announcement from VMware yesterday, VMware Horizon 6 was announced.  There are a boatload of improvements and new capabilities in this release.  Watch the replay of the announcement broadcast event at www.vmware.com/go/horizonnow and visit www.vmware.com/go/horizon for all of the latest product news.
  • PluralSight: One of our favorite VMUG supporters, training provider PluralSight has recently announced a great new community program expanding their support of VMUGs.  Watch for more information soon as complete our signup for this program.  In the meantime, if you aren’t familiar with them be sure to check them out.
  • VMware NSX: VMUG and VMware have teamed up for a NSX Seminar Series  These one day complimentary, educational seminars cover VMware’s Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC) approach and VMware NSX is helping to transform networking.  There is one on Tuesday, April 29th in Chicago.   More details here.
  • VMUG Game On:  Yesterday the VMware User Group launched an eight-week program to recruit new members.  Among the prizes are 5-day trip to VMworld, iPad Air and the local VMUG that has the most new recruits gets $750 for a celebration event.  So start spreading the word about VMUG and getting everyone you know involved.  More details at VMUGGameOn.com
